The Property Redress Scheme (PRS) is delighted to announce a workshop for Welsh agents on Thursday 7 July in Cardiff. The morning workshop includes insightful presentations giving agents a chance to get advice and guidance on essential industry topics, including the new legislation of Rent Smart Wales, which comes into effect in the autumn.
The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) and The Property Redress Scheme (PRS) are working together to raise awareness of competition law. The CMA has sent out an open letter to estate agents after it became known that agents in some areas of the country are making joint decisions over which property portal they join.
Mandatory client money protection was added to the Housing and Planning Bill last week after continued efforts by Lord Palmer and Baroness Hayter. The amendment means that the government needs to review if agents should be required to be a member of a client money protection scheme. For agents, this would also include keeping any client money in separate client money accounts.
